Do I have to attend every week?

No, if you cannot make a night of shooting this is no problem. However, you should attempt to make up your shooting the following week or on a Saturday. Please attempt to attend the first night and the night of our banquet.

May I be late?

Yes, however, the last group out is typically thirty minutes prior to closing time.

I’m not an experienced shooter, what should I do?

Please contact me so we I can introduce you to gun safety and skeet shooting before the league starts. I have also asked Grand Blanc Huntsman to provide an introduction to Gun Safety and Skeet Shooting on this first night of our league for our less experienced shooters.

I’m not a good shooter, is it ok to join the league?

Absolutely! In fact, most of the women on this league are average shooters. I’ve been shooting for three years and my last league average was 15 out of 25. Please be patient! It takes time and practice to become a good shooter.

What kind of shotgun do I need?

12, 20, or 28 gauge shotguns and 410 shotguns are acceptable choices. All actions (semi-automatic, over and under, side-by-side, or pump) are satisfactory except for a single-shot shotgun because you cannot shoot doubles with a single-shot shotgun.

What kind of shotgun shells do I need?

It is important that you buy the appropriate shotgun shells for your gun. The shot size must be 7 ½, 8 or 9 (1 ^1/8 ounce maximum loads for 12-gauge guns).

Can I buy shells at Grand Blanc Huntsman?

Yes, you can buy shells at Grand Blanc Huntsman. You can also purchase shells at Wal-Mart, Meijer, Kmart, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Williams and many more locations.

How much will we shoot?

We will shoot for 10-weeks, two rounds a week for a total of 500 targets.

Can I bring food into the club?

I sure hope so! It’s not uncommon for shooters to bring in various dishes to share with others.

Can I drink alcoholic beverage at the club?

You cannot drink before or during shooting, however, you may bring alcoholic beverages to drink after you have finished shooting.

What happens on the banquet/awards night?

We have a catered dinner and we award prizes.

What should I bring and what should I wear?

Comfortable clothes with flat shoes.
Dress for the weather.
Safety glasses and ear protection are a must!
Bring extra shells, you may want to shoot another round.
Although not necessary, I recommend a shooting jacket or shell bag. My first shooting jacket was a very expensive hunting jacket with shell pockets that I purchased from Gander Mountain for $10.00.
