GRAND BLANC HUNTSMAN’S CLUB

November 11, 2007

Meeting called to order at 5:30 PM by Dale Statson.

 

President: Dale Statson new point from Roberts Rules of Order. Grand Blanc Chamber of   Commerce shoot had 28 shooters. Bit disappointed with turnout yet they wanted to do it again next year. Sight in Days were successful. We advertised in 9 local newspapers. We received an e-mail about rifle range usage fees. Larry Dees talked about rifle range fees. Ladies Skeet League had a good time, also had newspaper article written about the league. Cub Scout Pack #18 want to come and tour our facility and possibly shoot a few targets on skeet field and rifle range. Parents must be present and sign insurance waiver prior using facility. CPL class postponed 30 days, approx. 30 people to attend. The Christmas Mitten Tree will be back at the end of November, charity yet to be chosen

 

Secretary: In the absence of Kirk Todd at the October meeting, Cam Henke recorded the minutes. Minutes were read by Cam and approved.

 

Treasurer: Walt Esser gave report. Dale Statson asked Walt to make a couple of changes and report next month for approval.

 

Membership: One new member, Charles L. Stewart making application, sponsored by Ron Wilcutts. Motion by Alan Sikes second by Arnold Fletcher to accept new member. Motion carried. Tom Santoro passed out a new form regarding risk. The form will be required for all new members to sign asking if he/she is a convicted felon or has mental health problems. All Board members liked his new letter. Membership report accepted as given.

 

Manager: Two lights are out on skeet field #3, must be repaired prior to mid-states skeet league starting in January.

 

Skeet: Mark Fischer is club’s new skeet manager and is starting immediately. Two registered skeet shoots scheduled for 2008 being 3-9-08, with 400 targets and 5-18 & 5-19 2008 with 500 targets.

 

Sporting Clays: Ron Wilcutts stated GBHC hosted registered tournament today with 48 shooters, profit $1580.00. This is the last shoot until next Easter. We need 12 new vinyl covers for machines, these covers are barbeque grill covers. Dave Fortier will purchase.

 

Old Business: Alan Sikes stated Game night has been set for 11-29-07 at 5:30 pm. Games to be played are: Scrap, Back-Up Trap and Annie Oakley. Shoot all three games for one price.

We continued discussion on changes to constitution and by-laws; a final reading was made and approved. Should be ready for printing and distribution to members in next week.

New Business: There was discussion about rifle range usage and fees and possibly some future promotion of new ideas to increase rifle range usage. No action taken at this time. Larry Dees may head up this committee in the future. Election committee was formed: members are Doug Shonts, John Webster, Dave Fortier, Arnold Fletcher and Cam Henke.
