GRAND BLANC HUNTSMAN’S CLUB

Meeting called to order at 5:35 pm by Dale Statson.

 

President: Dale Statson reported June 20 will be the John Cherry Shoot, June 22 Jamie Sweenor Shoot, June 17 will be another RSO class with $10.00 registration fee.  We have 2 new annual sponsors, John Bell and Deb Cherry. Manager Chris Roelandt resigned. Motion made to have Scott Statson and Javier Perozo become outside working leaders, second by C. Henke and also give $1.00 per hour raise, motion carried. June 12, July 17, Aug. 14 and Sept. 11 will be Steak and Clay nights. Need 15 trappers for John Cherry Shoot also need names and addresses for trappers to be paid day of shoot. Clean up day 8 people showed up, all went well.

 

Secretary: Kirk Todd, report was accepted as written.

 

Treasurer: Walt Esser, report was accepted as written.

 

Membership: Tom Santoro reported 3 new applicants applying for membership and all paper work was in order: Terrence J. O’Brien, Chris Corcoran, Doug McDonald. This brings our total to 417 paid members. Motion to accept new members by C. Henke, second by K Todd, motion carried.

Robert Miller gave check for $900.00 to become a life member of GBHC.

 

Skeet: Arnold Fletcher reported CANUSA dates at GBHC are Aug. 8, 9, 10. Club members can shoot 100 targets on Sunday morning to qualify. Skeet fields are full of broken targets and need to be cleaned up and placed on rifle range road.

 

Sporting Clays: Ron Wilcutts reported State Shoot program has been approved, L. Curtis will be taking names for volunteers for State Tournament, dates are June 27, 28 and 29. Three carts will be donated from Genesee Hills Golf Course. Sporting Clays league starts beginning June 1. Twelve rounds of 50 targets, 10 rounds count for score, $20.00 entry fee, pizza party at the end and can be shot anytime club is open.

 

Rifle Range: Larry Stolle reported approximate cost of road repair $4000.00. Discussion followed. Sporting Clays road can be used when rifle range road is impassible without new expense. Motion by C. Henke, second by J. Webster to have berm maintained, motion carried.

 

Manager: Dawson will be delivering targets May 29th.

 

Unfinished Business: Logo, C. Henke is still working on that, will be finished soon. Printing of the Constitution will follow updating club logo. Electrical for the pavilion, estimates were turned in $1200.00 was cheapest estimate. Motion by C. Henke, second by D. Fortier to spend up to $1500.00 for electrical, motion carried. New sign for McCandlish Rd is ready to be installed, need to call Miss Dig. Club audit team has been picked, will consist of C. Henke, D. Schroeder, L. Stolle, B. Jones and K. Todd.

 

New Business: D. Statson will do weed control again this year for the front pond, cost approximately $50.00. Motion to donate $250.00 to the Flint Olympian group by A. Fletcher, second by L. Curtis, motion carried.
