Meeting called to order at 5:35 pm by Dale Statson.
President: Dale Statson reported: Steak and Clays this Thursday June 12th at 4:30 pm. Cost of dinner $12.00. R S O class June 17th @ 6:30 pm. Cherry Shoot 6/20/08. Scott Statson and Javier have come with a work detail list which may help guys outside complete their tasks on time. Camo and Lace attempting to have shoot same day as CANUSA, will talk with Lisa Snelling. Roughed Grouse Society would like a September date to host fund raiser. NRA banquet will be held in the near future, we will reissue skeet and sporting clays cards which were previously issued for this event as door prizes.
Secretary: Kirk Todd reported, report was sent out by e-mail, copies were at meeting for those who didn’t have one, report accepted as written.
Treasurer: Walt Esser, shoot income is bit down but not substantially. Report accepted as published.
Membership: Tom Santoro reported we have one applicant for membership, Ronald Vander Mullen, sponsored by Ken Spears. Motion by L. Curtis, seconded by A. Sikes to accept new member, motion carried. We now have a total of 285 paid members with a total of 419 members. Report accepted as written.
Skeet: Mark Fischer was absent, D. Statson reporting, a good profit was made on the May shoot and again thanked Mark for his efforts. The shoot was well attended. Should we look at a summer skeet league? Scholastic Clays would like to shoot at our club one additional day/evening per week. Alan Sikes to discuss more with Tom Holton and Darrell King. Suggestion was made to have head of Scholastic Clays program meet with GBHC board with more information. Cam H. and Dale S. worked on skeet field #2 and replaced concrete.
Sporting Clays: Ron Wilcutts reported we have received approx $5200.00 in sponsorships for the State Shoot. Brad Kincaid bulldozed the road for Sporting Clays his charge $200 and will accept in trade skeet shoot cards. We will need volunteers during the week of 6-23-08 for the State shoot, and Thursday 6/19/08 for the Cherry shoot. We need all members help soliciting more advertising/sponsors for our State Shoot. Target costs have gone up again $1.20/ case: $.95 target cost, $.25 fuel surcharge.
Rifle Range: Larry Stolle reported: Thanks to Larry Curtis and Doug Shonts for work on rifle range road. Work has been done to top and bottom of the berm. People have been shooting in front of shooting boxes at rifle range (unsafe action). Discussion about this problem followed. John Webster will make some portable target stands to possibly reduce this occurrence. Motion by J. Webster, second by W. Esser to purchase new gate for rifle range road in September, cost not to exceed $125. Motion carried.
Manager: Dale states Alex King was hired as a new trapper. R. Wilcutts recommends that either Scott or Javier be available in the field when problems arise during the day.
Unfinished Business: Electrical at pavilion, supplies are being ordered and work will start in the next 30 days. New sign at Irish and McCandlish Roads to be installed in the 10 days. Income tax return has been filed. D. Schroeder will advise what is necessary for audit. Floor clean up, www.ProtectYourSurface.com has new product…no action taken at this time. Solar battery chargers have fully been installed. After installing new ones, found 1 broken…possibly caused by mowers or wind. Two new shooting benches were build and brought in by W. Esser.
Next meeting Thursday July 17 at 8:00 pm on Steak & Clays evening. Fun night will be added to Steak and Clays on July 17th.
