BOARD OF DIRECTORS / MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES

GRAND BLANC HUNTSMAN’S CLUB

June 10, 2007

 

Present:  Dale Statson     Kirk Todd             Walt Esser     Arnold Fletcher    Dave Fortier

Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm by Dale Statson.   Majority of board members present.

 

President:  Dale Statson reported Dennis Hovatter cannot be treasurer. Motion made by Ron Wilcutts , seconded by A. Fletcher to make W. Esser new treasurer. Approved unanimous.

Recording secretary position vacated by W. Esser has been left unfilled until next meeting.

Dale spoke with Hugh and his position and status has been clearly explained.  Atlas police department would like to use rifle range, more information is needed before decision is made to approve usage. Minimum wage is now $6.95 and effective July 1st it will be $7.15 and July 2008 it will be $7.40.

 

Treasurer:  Walt Esser: Use tax: Need to get information from Sandy.  Need work comp information. Treasurer report accepted as written.

 

Membership:  T. Santoro not present but reported 2 people, Mark Richardson and William Stemper applied for membership and all paper work is in order. Motion to approve new members by D. Fortier, seconded by R. Wilcutts, motion carried. Welcome new members.

 

Manager:  Problem with member swearing around members in club house and bossing trappers. Discussion followed and management must be the one to direct orders for all trappers. We will hang a chain across entrance to kitchen and office area, no one is to enter this area unless you work there. Raises were approved for Javier and Dylan, Dale will call Paychex and make changes.

 

Sporting Clays:   Wobble trap is up and running on 110 volts. We sold three laporte traps for a total of $1500.00. There was discussion about clay target remains and what to do with them. Decided we do not want chips on roadway. Discussion about annual club shoot, first weekend in August 4th and 5th.  Shoot as many times as you like, your first score is only score to count. John Cherry shoot will have 15 stations, all is on schedule.

 

Unfinished Business: Dale to call and get price on chloride from road to rifle range. Quotes have come in on pavilion, K. Todd made motion to approve $13,113 for new pavilion, R. Wilcutts seconded and final approval will come via e-mail vote. Mike Trombley has started installing new doors on all skeet houses. Steak and Clays Thursday June 28th. Man lift still not working properly, work in progress. Re: Lead Reclaiming, new company making sales pitch, more information to follow in future. SCTP is selling sponsorships, D. Fortier made motion, seconded by L. Curtis, to give $150.00 sponsorship at DGC. Motion carried. Scholastic clays at Grand Blanc High School has been turned down by superintendent of district. Canusa qualifier needs 4 trappers and 2 fields will be closed during the event.
