July 13, 2008

Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm by Dale Statson.
President: Dale Statson spoke about Robert’s Rules of Order.
Ladies summer league starts Thursday Aug. 7th, will need some coaching help. Club championship Sept. 6 & 7th will consist of 25 skeet, 25 trap, 25 wobble trap, 25 five stand and 50 sporting, 150 targets total. Camo and Lace fun shoot was schedule Aug 9th has been cancelled and will reschedule. Steak and Clays in June had 25 shooters, $310.00 profit and July 10th had 18 shooters for $200.00 profit. Aug. 14th is the next Steak and Clays. We thank Bill Jones for help at RSO training class. John Cherry Shoot June 20th had 320 shooters 18,700 targets thrown. Minimum wage went up. Re: Website maintenance… we need someone to host and keep website up to date. Regarding Club promotions: We renewed our NRA membership. We received 2 more $100 donations for pavilion furniture. Three SCTP kids from our club are going to the Nationals in August. Motion by A. Sikes second by D. Fortier to pay $100 for each for our kids attending which will cover entry fees and shells. Aug. 16th Ruffed Grouse Society expects over 30 SC shooters. Club will be open for business during this shoot.

Treasurer: Walt Esser, accepted as published. Walt will clarify the miscellaneous area of report.

Motion made by Arnold Fletcher second by Alan Sikes to accept new applicants into membership, motion carried.
Skeet: Report made by Dale Statson… Mark Fisher has resigned, and Arnold Fletcher will try to get new skeet chairperson. Flint Olympian had 46 shooters. Flint Olympian 2009 is July 15th and 19th. CANUSA 2008 is Aug 8 -10th, Sunday open to all members…Calcutta Sat. evening. A thank you letter was received from CANUSA board for our $250 donation.
Sporting Clays: Need to get shoot dates for 2009, Ron may stay on until the end of year to set targets. Thanks to all volunteers for all their help and hard work for the State Shoot. Arnold Fletcher exit polled many shooters who thought targets were tough but fair. Sporting Clays Spring League was cancelled. Man lift, we have a possible buyer to purchase lift Dale Statson stated.
Rifle Range: Larry Stolle proposed selling paper targets at the club. Initial cost is $150, motion by Alan Sikes second by John Webster to purchase targets and make available for sale to the shooters. Motion carried. John Webster is suggesting we need 3 gates on the grounds and will get a price.
Manager: We have the need for a second part time cashier. JoAnn has someone she’ll interview next week. Also hired new trapper…welcome to Troy Westerby.
Unfinished Business: Club logo should be finished in the next few days, Cam Henke will get logo picked up. Brad Carlson and Dave McDonald will be start on pavilion wiring next week.
New Business: Larry Curtis volunteered to assist with outside work and give additional direction to the trappers. Motion was made by Alan Sikes second by Walt Esser to have Larry Curtis direct outside help for 60 days to try and improve outside leadership direction/skills, motion carried.
Screen doors need to be replaced and board to check on estimates. Insurance is coming due in Sept. and would like to get other bids. Motion by John Webster second by Larry Curtis to purchase shift shaft for golf cart at a cost of $350. We need to get price to re-roof pole barn.
Steak and Fun night will be Sept 18, 2008.
